NC Countdown to College FAQs

Transcripts

There are two ways to send your electronic NC high school transcript to an NC college/university:

  1. When submitting an online college admission application, you can use the checkbox on the submission page, or
  2. Directly from the Application Hub. When choosing this option, you'll verify some basic information and then select up to 5 colleges and applications (e.g., Fall 2024 Undergraduate Application) to send your transcripts to at a time.  There is no maximum, but you can only choose 5 at a time.

Watch this How-To video for more detailed information about submitting a transcript.

NC public high school students at participating high schools can send an unlimited number of free electronic high school transcripts to 111 NC colleges and universities.  You can use this transcript system even if you did not use CFNC to submit your application.  You’ll find a list of participating NC public high schools at the top of the Request a Transcript page in the CFNC Application Hub.

If you view your sent transcript from the CFNC Application Hub, it is only a copy and will have the watermark on it that says “unofficial”.  The official transcript that CFNC delivers directly to your colleges electronically does not have this watermark.

If you receive an email or see a notice in the Application Hub that your transcript request has failed, please contact us for guidance on next steps.
